Day 01

Upon arrival, a scenic drive will whisk you from Bagdogra airport to Phuentsholing, Bhutan’s vibrant border town. The drive from Bagdogra to Phuentsholing offers breathtaking views of lush tea plantations and dense forests, marking a scenic and cultural transition into Bhutan’s unique environment. It’s your first glimpse of Bhutan’s tranquil beauty and distinctive charm.

Our team will manage the necessary documentation for the Bhutan trip, including securing Individual permits at the immigration office and Vehicle Route Permits, along with other essential papers, from the Transport Office.

Drive time: 3 – 4 hours

Day 02

The scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital, begins with stops at the picturesque Wangkha waterfall and the significant Chhudzom confluence. Lunch is scheduled at Wangkha after the Check Point. The journey continues through changing landscapes, culminating in the arrival in Thimphu, preparing for further exploration of this culturally rich Himalayan Kingdom.
In the afternoon, we will visit Tashi Chhodzong and Changyuel Park.

Day 03

The morning begins with a visit to the colossal Buddha Dordenma statue, which offers a commanding view over the Thimphu valley. This gigantic, three-story throne houses several chapels, and the statue’s body contains an impressive 125,000 smaller Buddha statues, a sight uniquely Bhutanese.

In the afternoon, you will head to the Archery ground to witness Bhutan’s national sport. Afterward, drive to the SangayGang viewpoint for a beautiful sunset. From this spot, you can also see the King’s Palace and enjoy a panoramic view of Thimphu city.

Day 04

The journey begins with a drive to Gangtey. A significant stop along the route is Dochhula Pass, a mountain pass on the road between Thimphu and Punakha. This location, set against the backdrop of the snow-covered Himalayas, is distinguished by the 108 memorial chortens, or stupas, located there.

Following this, the drive continues to Phobjikha, including a planned stop for lunch at Nobding.

The drive then takes us to Pelela Pass, which holds the historical significance of marking the traditional divide between western and central Bhutan. The pass is also notable for its extensive panoramic views of the Himalayas.

Day 05

Drive to the Black-necked Crane Centre to spot this endangered species that winters in the valley, followed by a visit to Gangtey Monastery—the spiritual heart of the region, known for its striking architecture and serene atmosphere.

Later, drive to Punakha and enjoy lunch by the riverside in the Punakha Valley with views of the majestic Punakha Dzong. In the afternoon, experience scenic river rafting along the Punakha River, passing by the iconic dzong.

Day 06

Drive to Bhutan’s Nalanda University, followed by visits to the Wolakha Nunnery and Chimi Lhakhang—popularly known as the Fertility Temple.

Stop for lunch at Lamperi Botanical Park and experience traditional Bhutanese cuisine, including Ema Datshi, along with the locally brewed wine Ara.

Continue the drive to Paro. In the evening, enjoy leisure time or shopping in Paro town.

Day 07

Get ready for the highlight of the trip—a hike to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery! Perched on a cliff at 10,240 ft in the Paro Valley, this iconic Buddhist site is steeped in myth. It is said that Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress, giving it the name Tiger’s Nest. The 7.2 km round-trip trek winds through pine forests and rhododendron bushes, taking 4–6 hours depending on pace. 

Trek time: 4 – 6 hours

Day 08

After breakfast, we’ll visit Paro Dzong, an architectural masterpiece that once defended the valley from invasions. Officially called Rinchen Pung Dzong, or ‘Fortress on a Heap of Jewels,’ it now houses both monastic and government offices. Later, we’ll journey back to the vibrant border town of Phuentsholing—one last chance to soak in the spirit of Bhutan before bidding farewell.

Day 09

Once again, it’s time to undertake the scenic journey from Phuentsholing to Bagdogra airport, where we will wrap up our epic adventure and bid adieu!

Travel Documents for Bhutan: As an Indian citizen, you will need:

  • Passport: Valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry, or a Voter ID card as an alternative identification.
  • Entry Permit: Issued upon arrival at designated entry points (Paro Airport or Phuentsholing), allowing access to popular areas like Thimphu and Paro.
  • Travel Insurance: Recommended to have travel insurance covering health and emergencies.

Health and Safety: During our Bhutan adventure, we will embark on multiple hikes. As we explore breathtaking landscapes, a good level of fitness will go a long way! You’ll need to carry your own luggage, though we’ll provide assistance where possible—just keep in mind that offloading isn’t available in most areas. 

  • Cancel within 90 days before the Trip: Enjoy a full refund—no questions asked!
  • Cancel within 60 - 90 days before the Trip: You’ll receive a 70% refund.
  • Cancel within 30 - 60 days before the Trip: You’ll receive a 30% refund.
  • Cancel within 30 - 60 days before the Trip: Unfortunately, no refund will be available.

Need to Change Plans? You can transfer your spot to a friend if they’re excited to join the trip. Alternatively, you can keep your funds on hold with us for a future adventure.

Trip Cancellation or Postponement: If the trip is canceled or postponed at our end, you’ll receive a full refund. If the trip is cut short, you’ll receive a partial refund based on the days missed.
